well i finished it about four days ago, and here's what i think, i think what happened was the plan, i know this sounds like it doesn't make sense, but in my head it does... anyways, i'm being vague so i don't give things away... come see me in chi town kates, then we can talk about it properly...
for the last 50 pages i started whining to myself in my head that i just want the last book to come out already, you know?
so we all know what new book in a wonderful YA series came out today (or last night at midnight for all those piled up in bookstores wearing fake plastic glasses and answering trivia questions...) yes, yes... i got my copy (thanks to rach as i'd misplaced my wallet) and i'm going to read it this weekend and probably into this next week too (600+ pages, wow, i love that kids are getting this into reading!)... of course i'm excited, aren't you?
so this is a collection of short stories by julie orringer... very very very good (depressing, but so good)... i've decided i should start reading short stories more, i was on that flannery oconnor kick a few years back but after that i just headed back to novels... short stories are excellent for commuting, and it really impresses me how quickly i could become involved in each one... if you're looking for fast reading material mostly about the different experiences of about adolescent women, this would be an excellent choice!
